The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have issued the 15th Five-Year Plan for Oil and Natural Gas Development, proposing strategic coal-to-oil and coal-to-gas bases in Xinjiang's Zhundong and Hami — further cementing Xinjiang's position in the national energy landscape.

 As a key Belt and Road node and a national energy base, Xinjiang is accelerating the rollout of coal chemical, green hydrogen, new material and CCUS demonstration projects across coal-to-oil/gas, olefins, green hydrogen, green ammonia, lithium battery materials and fine chemicals. Driven by the national aid-Xinjiang policy and the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative, the region's chemical industry is shifting rapidly toward digital, green, intelligent and safe development, with facility upgrades and new mega-projects advancing in parallel.

Against this backdrop, the 2027 Xinjiang International Chemical Technology & Equipment Expo (CTEF Xinjiang) will be held from July 15–17, 2027 at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center. Under the theme "Connecting Global Chemical Equipment, Unlocking Xinjiang and the Asia–Europe Market," the expo spans 40,000 sqm with 500+ global exhibitors and is expected to draw 30,000+ professional buyers from 14 Belt and Road core countries — a one-stop strategic platform for global chemical equipment companies to enter Xinjiang and the wider Asia–Europe market, integrating brand promotion, technical exchange and business matchmaking.

1.Dongming Plastics 800,000 t/y Coal-to-Olefins Project (Wucaiwan; total investment ~RMB 18.97 billion; scope: 2.2 million t/y methanol + 800,000 t/y methanol-to-olefins units)

2.Shandong Energy Yankuang Zhundong 800,000 t/y Coal-to-Olefins Integration Project (Wucaiwan; RMB 20.86 billion)

Equipment: air separation, gasification, shift & heat recovery, Rectisol, sulfur recovery, methanol synthesis, methanol-to-olefins, olefin separation, steam cracking, C4-to-1-butene, etc.

3.CHN Energy Zhundong 2 billion Nm³/y Coal-to-SNG Project (RMB 16.10 billion)

 Equipment: crushed-coal pressurized gasifiers, air separation units, shift converters, Rectisol tower systems, high-temperature methanation reactors, natural gas dryers, natural gas compressor trains, LNG liquefaction cold boxes, Claus sulfur recovery, electrolyzers & rectifiers for hydrogen, carbon capture units, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps & valves, DCS.

4.Qiya Xinjiang Group 1.6 million t/y Silicone & Downstream Deep Processing Project (~RMB 13 billion; phased implementation)

Equipment: industrial silicon submerged arc furnaces, methyl chloride synthesis reactors, fluidized bed reactors (Si powder + methyl chloride), hydrolysis reactors, monomer separation distillation columns, polymerization kettles, oligomer removal units, kneaders, filtration & drying equipment, heat exchangers, storage tanks, DCS.

5.Xinjiang Qiya Silicon-based Materials 800,000 t/y Siloxane & Downstream Project (energy assessment approved; construction imminent)

Equipment: siloxane synthesis/cracking units, distillation columns, polymerization reactors, heat exchangers, specialty pumps & valves, DCS.

6.Xinjiang Xinlianxin 320,000 t/y Melamine + 500,000 t/y Compound Fertilizer (with ammonia synthesis and food-grade & industrial-grade CO₂ units)

 Equipment: melamine synthesis reactors (low-pressure gas-phase), crystallizers, centrifugal filters, drying systems, compound fertilizer granulators, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps & valves.

II. Urumqi | Ganquanbao Economic & Technological Development Zone

1.CHN Energy Xinjiang 300,000 t/y PGA (Polyglycolic Acid) co-producing 50,000 t/y Ethylene Glycol (RMB 9.82 billion; preparing for construction)

Equipment: gasifiers, air separation units, oxalate synthesis (carbonylation) reactors, oxalate hydrogenation reactors, EG distillation column systems, PGA polymerization reactors, pelletizers, dryers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, DCS.

2.Ganquanbao BDO–PBAT Coal-based Biodegradable New Material Base (~RMB 12.2 billion)

 Equipment: acetylene generators/maleic anhydride reactors, formaldehyde reactors, alkynylation (Reppe) reactors, BDO hydrogenation reactors, BDO distillation columns, esterification kettles, polycondensation kettles, pelletizers, drying systems, THF recovery units, heat exchangers, storage tanks.

3.Nantong Donggang Fluorine Materials Integration Phase I (RMB 3.95 billion)

Equipment: hydrogen fluoride rotary reaction furnaces, fluorination reactors, polymerization kettles, corrosion-resistant distillation columns (Hastelloy/titanium), specialty heat exchangers, centrifuges, drying equipment, tail gas scrubbers, specialty pumps & valves, DCS.

III. Aksu Prefecture | Kuqa Chemical Industry Park

1.Xinjiang Bingneng New Materials 40,000 t/y POM (Polyoxymethylene) (RMB 825 million; final commissioning stage)

Equipment: formaldehyde oxidation reactors, trioxane synthesis units, bulk polymerization reactors, extrusion pelletizers, dryers, distillation columns, heat exchangers, vacuum systems.

2.Tahe Refining 10 Million t/y Oil Refining + 1 Million t/y Ethylene Revamp & Expansion (~RMB 21.5 billion)

3.PetroChina Kunlun Energy Natural Gas-to-Acetylene & Downstream Biodegradable Plastics (~RMB 11.4 billion)

Hengyi Energy 2.4 Million t/y Coal-to-Ethylene Glycol Project (RMB 25.7 billion)

 Equipment: coal gasifiers, air separation units, shift converters, Rectisol towers, oxalate synthesis (carbonylation) reactors, oxalate hydrogenation reactors, EG distillation column series, heat exchangers, compressors, storage tanks, DCS.

VI. Bayingolin (Bazhou) | Korla Shangku High-tech Zone & Ruoqiang New Material Industrial Park

1.Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim 1.2 Million t/y Phase II Ethylene Project (RMB 25.66 billion)

 Equipment: ethylene cracking furnaces, quench towers, cracked gas/ethylene/propylene compressors, cold boxes, low-temperature distillation columns (C2/C3 splitters), hydrogenation reactors, heat exchangers, spherical/cryogenic storage tanks, DCS.

2.Lanshan Tunhe BDO–PBAT Biodegradable New Material Base Phase I (~RMB 8.6 billion)

 Equipment: acetylene/maleic-anhydride-route BDO synthesis units, hydrogenation reactors, BDO distillation columns, esterification kettles, polycondensation kettles, pelletizers, drying systems, THF recovery units, heat exchangers, storage tanks.

3.Ruoqiang Lithium Battery Materials + Chlor-Alkali Circular Economy Industrial Park Phase I (RMB 13.8 billion)

Equipment: ion-exchange membrane electrolyzers, brine purification units, rectifiers, chlorine cooling & drying towers, HCl synthesis furnaces, caustic soda evaporative crystallizers, lithium battery material reactors, crystallizers, drying equipment, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps & valves.

VII. Hami

TBEA Hami 50,000 t/y Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) Cathode (RMB 3.3 billion)

 Equipment: mixing & grinding equipment, spray drying towers, roller kilns/tunnel sintering furnaces, jet mills, dehumidification & atmosphere control systems, dust collection & environmental equipment, conveying & packaging systems, testing instruments.

VIII. 8th Division Shihezi | Shihutan New Material Industrial Park

Tianye Group Smart Eco Photovoltaic-Coupled Green Specialty Resin Demonstration Project (Phase I) (RMB 13.97 billion; +RMB 1.36 billion added in 2026)

Equipment: ion-exchange membrane electrolyzers, brine purification units, rectifiers, chlorine treatment units, VCM synthesis converters, PVC polymerization kettles, stripping columns, centrifugal dewatering machines, fluidized bed dryers, extrusion & packaging equipment, heat exchangers, storage tanks.

IX. Tacheng | Halagande Industrial Incubation Park, Shawan City

Zhongke Liquid Sunshine (Shawan) Green Hydrogen-Coupled Zero-Carbon Methanol Circular Economy Project (launched April 2026)

Equipment: water electrolysis electrolyzers, rectifier power supplies, CO₂ capture units, methanol synthesis reactors, distillation columns, compressors, heat exchangers, storage tanks.
